Our mission

Horisont Husky offers multiday expeditions with our amazing dogs in Northern Norway. We offer exclusive full participation tours filled with activity, lots of new impressions, challenges and a real taste of how life is as a dog musher.

“Long trips and challenges are a driving force in my life.”

My name is Roy Ugseth and I have been doing outdoor activities in all seasons since my father brought me along on fishing trips in the mountains nearby.

Fishing and outdoor life have always been an important driving force for me and gradually the horizon expanded to hunting, canoeing and kayaking, mountain hiking, long ski trips and last but not least to dog sledding.

I have been dog sledding since 2005 and have run one of the world's longest dog races 10 times.

Unforgettable Memories

After several days on a trip with Horisont Husky, you will experience magnificent landscapes, unique contact with the dogs and nature, and sensory impressions that you will never completely forget. Perhaps nature offers up the northern lights' dance in the sky as a bonus?

We want the guest to have an experience that he or she grows on, and we can plan different trips with different durations. We can offer full-day trips, trips with an overnight stay, 3-day trips as well as unique long-distance trips of 6 days and one of 10 days - all depending on what suits the guest.

At Horisont Husky, we believe that dog sledding is best experienced when the dogs are well! These dogs are our best friends and are also with us on perhaps the toughest dog race in the world - the Finnmarksløpet. We see that they are at their best when they can run long distances, which is why we choose to offer long-distance trips, which is a better experience for both driver and dog.

Dog Care

We focus on offering experiences that build relationships and the dogs are close to us all the time - in a tent or cabin nearby. What the dogs experience, we also experience. Being part of the herd is a unique experience. Maybe they howl in unison, in the middle of the camp? Or looks in a direction to show us something we don't perceive. Getting to know the pack and almost being part of it is a special experience and we may understand a little of what once made the dog - or the wolf - become our companion?

Expedition Experience

We want to adapt the tour to the guests' requirements and wishes, without compromising the safety and welfare of the dogs. We therefore take relatively small groups of a maximum of 4 people. HH's tour may not be suitable for everyone, but for those who want an expedition experience!
